Our Commitment to Biodiversity Reflected in Every Release
In the competitive world of hotel revenue optimization across Europe, Profit Intelligence strives to stand out as a beacon of innovation and responsibility. What sets our company apart is not just its cutting-edge technology but also unique practices in our daily routines to align our activities with our core values. This is one that we particularly love: naming each software update after an endangered species. This seemingly unconventional approach holds a deep significance for our team, dating back to our summer seminar in 2021, where we collectively defined our core values.
During the summer seminar of 2021, Profit Intelligence’s team embarked on a journey to align their corporate values with the pressing issues of our time. Among these values, adopting more environmentally responsible communication and behaviors, with a focus on biodiversity protection, emerged as a central theme. This shared commitment to the planet’s well-being made a lasting impression on the team, and it continues to influence their approach to business today.
While Profit Intelligence’s primary mission is to help hotels and hotel groups maximize their revenue potential, we made the decision to name each software update after an endangered species to reflect our core value to “be responsible”.
This unique practice goes beyond mere symbolism. It serves as a constant reminder of the urgent need to protect endangered species and their habitats. It encourages our team and clients to be mindful of their environmental impact.
What’s remarkable is the genuine enthusiasm that this practice has generated within the Profit Intelligence team. They have embraced the opportunity to learn about endangered species and have turned it into a game of sorts, with team members eagerly anticipating the unveiling of the next species to be honored in future update.
The most recent update, for instance, was named after the Beluga white whale. This magnificent creature, known for its striking appearance and distinctive white coloration, inhabits the Arctic and sub-Arctic waters. Its unique characteristics include a rounded forehead and a flexible neck, allowing it to move its head in various directions. Being one of the most iconic and threatened marine mammals, the Beluga white whale serves as a poignant symbol of the urgent need to protect our planet’s biodiversity.
